Home Business Success – Do You Have The Right Mindset?

Do you have the right attitude, the right mindset, to begin your home business venture, and most importantly, make it a success?

Here are some pointers that might be useful to you.
Mindset #1: Your home business should be your passion
Your home business must be something that interests you the most. You must be ready to do anything and everything you can, to make it a success. If you stumble, find out your mistakes, learn from it, build on it and turn it into a success story. Never quit your business. It is only when you quit, you actually fail.
Never say, “I am going to try my home business for sometime. If it is fruitful to me, I will continue with it. If not, I will just forget it.” With this attitude, you might as well forget about your home business now. Yes, right now. There is no point in continuing when you have already fixed a time for quitting.
Mindset #2: You are your own Boss, hence more responsibility
You are your own boss. Whatever happens to your business is entirely the result of your efforts. You must strive consistently to grow your business and patiently wait for success. You can only slow down when you have become successful and after you have reached a point in your business, where your initial efforts continuously produce income for you.
Never think, “I am the boss. Whether I work or not, nobody is here to question me. I can enjoy my life. I can postpone things as I like.” This will not help you or your business.
Mindset #3: You are not an employee. You are an entrepreneur

The 3 Elements You Need For Successful Home Business

For this article we will focus on leads. Leads are people that are interested in making money from home. How do we know this?
For starters, they have either put an ad on the internet stating they want a home based business, or they have filled out a form with one of the lead generation companies.
Now how do we go about getting these so called leads? Some businesses put a simple questioner out over the internet that people can access to answer some simple questions.
These questions are usually, how much time a week you can put towards your business, how much money can you invest in your business, why do you want to work from home, etc.
These questioners are usually short and to the point. Once all this information is gathered the business then contacts that individual to sell them on his business opportunity.
Another way to find leads is through the lead generation companies that are on the internet. There business is to compile all the information and then sell it to business owners to use.
This is where it gets touchy. Today there are so many of these “so called” email list, lead lists etc. How do you know who is legit and who isn’t?
My rule of thumb on this is, a company offering a large amount (over 5000) leads a month is probably not a very good source.
So what makes a good source to find leads? Well what you want to look at is companies that offer what we call “double opt-in” leads.
What that means is each lead had to fill out one of those questioners and had to put a valid email address on that questioner, so that company could email them for confirmation.
That is double opt-in, that person filed out the form, and then got an email from the company asking if they filed out the form. If they did they hit a link that would confirm that to the company.
Then you want to look to see if that company also supplies the address, phone, IP address of the lead.
And what I think is most important, does the company offer leads that are spam compliant! This means you will not be accused of spam when you contact that lead! And will this lead be unique to you.
What I mean by unique to you is, once that lead shows up on your list, it will not show up on anyone else’s lead list.
And last but not least price! Please don’t think that the higher the fee the better the leads will be. This is definitely not true; I can vouch for that one.
I have used lead sources to promote my business that cost anywhere from $30 a month for 1000 leads, to $150 a month for 4000 leads. Which do you think I had the better luck with?

Product, Leads, and advertising the 3 most important elements of any successful home based business.
For this article we will focus on leads. Leads are people that are interested in making money from home. How do we know this?
For starters, they have either put an ad on the internet stating they want a home based business, or they have filled out a form with one of the lead generation companies.
Now how do we go about getting these so called leads? Some businesses put a simple questioner out over the internet that people can access to answer some simple questions.
These questions are usually, how much time a week you can put towards your business, how much money can you invest in your business, why do you want to work from home, etc.
These questioners are usually short and to the point. Once all this information is gathered the business then contacts that individual to sell them on his business opportunity.
Another way to find leads is through the lead generation companies that are on the internet. There business is to compile all the information and then sell it to business owners to use.
This is where it gets touchy. Today there are so many of these “so called” email list, lead lists etc. How do you know who is legit and who isn’t?
My rule of thumb on this is, a company offering a large amount (over 5000) leads a month is probably not a very good source.
So what makes a good source to find leads? Well what you want to look at is companies that offer what we call “double opt-in” leads.
What that means is each lead had to fill out one of those questioners and had to put a valid email address on that questioner, so that company could email them for confirmation.
That is double opt-in, that person filed out the form, and then got an email from the company asking if they filed out the form. If they did they hit a link that would confirm that to the company.
Then you want to look to see if that company also supplies the address, phone, IP address of the lead.
And what I think is most important, does the company offer leads that are spam compliant! This means you will not be accused of spam when you contact that lead! And will this lead be unique to you.
What I mean by unique to you is, once that lead shows up on your list, it will not show up on anyone else’s lead list.
And last but not least price! Please don’t think that the higher the fee the better the leads will be. This is definitely not true; I can vouch for that one.
I have used lead sources to promote my business that cost anywhere from $30 a month for 1000 leads, to $150 a month for 4000 leads. Which do you think I had the better luck with?

There may be optional advance training, again at minimal cost. I mean your helping them grow their company and it should not cost you an arm and leg.
B: Are they just local, confined to just 1 location of the country or can you market nationwide and possibly international. This broadens your marketing ability and income growth, plus you should be able to market off line as well as online nationwide.
2. Is the there a demand for the product or service being offered because without a doubt, demand equals opportunity?
3. Is this product or service a fad that will come and go away like most do?
You want something with market stability and market longevity regardless of the economy good or bad. Also you want something that does not consume a lot of time that you already don’t have and that will allow you to fit it into your
already busy schedule with significant financial return. We are not talking about your TV time or video game time, there are sacrifices to be made, you may have to give some of that up to focus on building.
4. Will it offer you income security? In other words is it residual (repeating monthly income) but more than that, is your income vested so that if something happens to you the income will still come to your family for generations to come or go to whomever you will it to or whom you assign it to. That is very significant and most important.
5. What kind of benefits and incentives do you get, that will help you save while you earn, i.e. health, other money saving benefits, etc.
6. What is the cost of your investment and how soon will you get a return on it; Me, I like immediate. Don't you? Also what percentage of commissions, overrides and bonuses do you get, some are so low it is ridiculous.
7. Do you have to spend a lot of money buying products etc monthly, volumes that you possibly won't use before you have to buy again just to get paid so it ends up in the garage or you have to give it away. Along with the buying do you have to also sale so much volume a month to get paid. Some company commissions as small as they are, are dependent upon on how much "product" is purchased by your clients or you each month. That can put strain on your pocket and retention of clients could be tough if they can buy the same or similar product at the local super stores. The concept above is usually called Personal Volume and Business Volume or called PV and BV, which if it does not balance out, (quotas) you get Zero Balance, No PAY Due. The way we handle problems is one of the distinguishing characteristics of those who become successful, and those who let circumstances stand in the way. It is almost a given that at a certain point along the route, what we are trying to do, we will be faced with obstacles. Nowhere is this clearer than in the business world. And the online, home business arena is certainly no different.
Despite the many offers for instant, turn-key businesses, there are still circumstances that can change, things that may seem something goes wrong, and ideas that may not lead to a profitable outcome.
As an example, I recently an easy way to a number of programmes that I am in. The system comes with autoresponder messages, however, just this afternoon when I logged into the autoresponder account, I discovered I could not upload any leads I had bought. I got a bit irritated at first, then did some research online and found another autoresponder service that allows uploading purchased.
'Great', I thought. The only problem was I to do with the way was to reconfigure the transfer and 216 e-mail messages to this new service ...
I tried sending the e-mails as a test messages (which I do not have a copy of them on my hard drive). That seemed to work for the first 50. Then I got a message that I could not test all e-mails that hour. The autoresponder service seemed to think that I am still a free account, even though I had upgraded a day ago. Mild frustration began to creep in again. I have a number of e-mails more, but do not want to wait for assistance to return to me. So I went back to square 1 - copy and paste each e-mail message, all 216.
I decided a zen-like attitude could best me here. And by scanning the titles and contents of each message if I copied and pasted (they're not written by me, and not by a more experienced marketer), I started to really learn a lot more, about how the items were used trigger words, And all those things I had read about the trade in books and ezines.
"Cool", I thought, 'This is not so bad after all. "
Then, of course, my computer stopped registering the right click of the mouse on the web. I had spilled hot coffee all over my desk a few months ago, and my laptop is not as happy as it once was since that time. Now, it seems, was one of those moments. Fortunately for me, I had discovered that the simultaneous use of 'Ctrl' and 'C' on the keyboard data and copied to the clipboard. So that issue, too. (Could I again my computer, but did not want to reopen and log in to all weather).
The point of all this is that even with time-saving elements of pre-business, things can still go wrong. Or they may need some ingenuity to a new impetus. Take PLR articles - instead of uploading them to a website unchanged, or even hire someone to rewrite them, why not turn them into an ebook, ecourse, or report to be used for viral marketing?

7 Keys To Running A Successful Home Business

Running a successful home business is very different than working in Corporate America, or even working in a retail position or anything else. Our paychecks depend on our productivity. If we don't work, we don't get paid. My hope in writing this article, is to give some tips on how to run a successful home business. It's not successful unless you are going to the bank and depositing money.
The first key in running a successful home business is to create a business that is marketable. For instance, I have spent many years selling cosmetics, but so many people sell cosmetics especialy being in the same town as corporate, that I couldn't market the products. When I chose to become a coach, I chose to do so because the possibilities are limitless and I believed that I could market my services.
The next key to a successful home business is to become a part of the Din Din Club. Din Din stands for Do It Now. There are going to be things that you don't want to do and personally speaking, I found every excuse in the book not to do those things. What do you think excuses are? They are lies that we tell ourselves that no one else believes but us. Quit making excuses as to why you can't start a business and become a part of the Din Din Club.
The third key to being a successful home based business is self confidence. I will use myself as an example. When I first started coaching, I was afraid to approach people and talk about what I did. I didn't think anyone would want my services. But the truth was, that as long as I didn't believe in myself and speak about my business with confidence, potential clients wouldn't invest their time or money into me and my services.
The next key to running a successful home business is consistency. Many people are misinformed when it comes to running a home business. The clients do not just come knocking on your door. You have to find them. When I was selling cosmetics, I found that about 3 out of 10 became customers. As I built my customer base, I learned that 3 new customers a week would not pay the bills. So I made it a daily routine to talk to 10 people a day and giving them my business card was not enough, I had to get their number as well. But I had to take it a step further. I had to follow up with them within 24 hours. As a consumer, I look for consistency. I look for someone that is easily accessible to me. For the next 5 days, I want you to practice handing out 10 cards a day and you will see your business explode right before your very eyes.
The next key to success is marketing. In my experience, there are several marketing techniques. The first is on paper. This includes flyers, business cards, letters, or anything else that will introduce you to the community. This is very important in marketing. It makes us look credible to have professional 3 fold brochures printed and to always have business cards on us. In interviewing people who were attracted to my flyers, I discovered that the thing they liked the most was the client testimonials.
The next area of marketing is on-line. This is an important tool for gaining new business, but don't let it be the only source of business for you. I encourage you to NOT sit in front of the computer waiting for business to come because it doesn't happen that way. There are many tools to use such as: blogs, autoresponders, guestbook, etc. The most important part of marketing is face to face. Check with rotary clubs, your local Chamber Of Commerce, associations, etc. When networking, the most important thing to remember is Who You Know. Who can you refer to others in the group. When you make referrals to others, they will in turn refer back to you. All of these things come together to create the absolute most important thing in business today - professionalism. Incorporate these things into your business and people will respect you and your business.

The next key to a successful home business is to become a part of the Din Din Club. Din Din stands for Do It Now. There are going to be things that you don't want to do and personally speaking, I found every excuse in the book not to do those things. What do you think excuses are? They are lies that we tell ourselves that no one else believes but us. Quit making excuses as to why you can't start a business and become a part of the Din Din Club.
The third key to being a successful home based business is self confidence. I will use myself as an example. When I first started coaching, I was afraid to approach people and talk about what I did. I didn't think anyone would want my services. But the truth was, that as long as I didn't believe in myself and speak about my business with confidence, potential clients wouldn't invest their time or money into me and my services.
The next key to running a successful home business is consistency. Many people are misinformed when it comes to running a home business. The clients do not just come knocking on your door. You have to find them. When I was selling cosmetics, I found that about 3 out of 10 became customers. As I built my customer base, I learned that 3 new customers a week would not pay the bills. So I made it a daily routine to talk to 10 people a day and giving them my business card was not enough, I had to get their number as well. But I had to take it a step further. I had to follow up with them within 24 hours. As a consumer, I look for consistency. I look for someone that is easily accessible to me. For the next 5 days, I want you to practice handing out 10 cards a day and you will see your business explode right before your very eyes.
The next key to success is marketing. In my experience, there are several marketing techniques. The first is on paper. This includes flyers, business cards, letters, or anything else that will introduce you to the community. This is very important in marketing. It makes us look credible to have professional 3 fold brochures printed and to always have business cards on us. In interviewing people who were attracted to my flyers, I discovered that the thing they liked the most was the client testimonials.
The next area of marketing is on-line. This is an important tool for gaining new business, but don't let it be the only source of business for you. I encourage you to NOT sit in front of the computer waiting for business to come because it doesn't happen that way. There are many tools to use such as: blogs, autoresponders, guestbook, etc. The most important part of marketing is face to face. Check with rotary clubs, your local Chamber Of Commerce, associations, etc. When networking, the most important thing to remember is Who You Know. Who can you refer to others in the group. When you make referrals to others, they will in turn refer back to you. All of these things come together to create the absolute most important thing in business today - professionalism. Incorporate these things into your business and people will respect you and your business.

Home Business -- How to Find One That Works

If you've done any inquiring about a viable home business, you've no doubt found your mailbox and email inbox overflowing with various offers. The numbers seem literally endless. A search for "home business" on Google alone will turn up about 2.44 billion (that's "billion" with a "B") hits!
If you've spent any significant time trying out different offers, you've also discovered that nearly all of them, for one reason or another, just aren't viable options. Many are outright scams. Envelope stuffing schemes are a prime example. Others are legitimate (sort of), but their claims are always overblown. They're never as fast, as easy, or as profitable as you're told they are.
Many just plain don't work! For example, you're offered one or more "free" websites and told you can drive traffic using free online classifieds. Ever tried this one? Place all the free classifieds you want, but you won't get a single order. You WILL however, get loads of spam. And the "free" websites costs you monthly hosting fees paid to (you guessed it!) the vendor from whom you bought the program.
So who's really making money here? You've probably figured it out by now. In almost every case, the only people who really make any money are those making the "work at home" offers. You're left discouraged, frustrated, and poorer than when you started.
But while the search can be very disheartening, it's not hopeless. There ARE some legitimate home business opportunities, and there ARE ways to make money, even very good money, working from home.
Now whatever you do, don't just give up on your search. But you do need to develop a sense for what's obviously over-hyped and what's worthy of further investigation.
Continue your search while keeping the following guidelines in mind.
1. The "We do all the work for you!" deception.
Anytime you see an offer that promises instant riches with no effort on your part, you'd be well advised to run the other way! You need to realize up front that absolutely nothing is going to make money for you unless you're willing to put forth some effort.
You've probably seen statements like "Everything is done for you" or "The lazy man's way to becoming a millionaire." So ask yourself "What do they need ME for anyway?" Would anybody set up a business and do all the hard work himself just to send his profits to a total stranger? Get real!
2. The "Start making BIG money immediately" deception.
In some cases it's possible to start making SOME money in a relatively short time span. You shouldn't necessarily dismiss a business idea that promises quick startup. But "immediate riches" is just not realistic.
You need to realize that growing any business to its full potential isn't going to happen overnight. This is especially true if your financial situation is such that you're forced to depend on your present job to pay the bills.
Find a home business that you can start part time and grow, until your business produces enough income that you can get by without your current salary. At that point, you can quit your job and devote full time to your home business.
3. The "Make $50,475.00 (or some other unbelievable sum) the very first month!" deception.
You need to have realistic expectations regarding just how much money you're going to make.
Are you expecting to become a millionaire in a home business? While it's not impossible, don't fall into the trap of jumping at an offer based on wishful thinking. You'd do well to give more serious consideration to those home business offers that make more realistic sounding claims.
That's not to say you can't start and grow a business that COULD eventually make you wealthy. But again, it won't happen tomorrow, next week, or even next month. At the risk of being redundant, it bears repeating that you should focus on offers that don't promise immediate wealth with no effort.
4. The "This is completely FREE" deception.
While it's possible and not at all unusual to get free information online that's both valuable and useful, don't expect to launch a home business without spending any money. There will always be some startup costs.
If you're offered a free eBook, newsletter, course, software product, or whatever, go ahead and accept it if it interests you. Most such offers are legitimate, and are a great way to get some ideas and do some research into a home business.
Just make sure you read all the fine print. If you subscribe for information and give your email address, look for a notice that reads something like "We will not share your name" and "You can unsubscribe at anytime." Just about every legitimate marketer (and every smart one) will promise this, and faithfully adhere to his promise.
5. The deceptive "Money Back Guarantee"
Almost every offer comes with a "money back guarantee" and most of them are legitimate. Every reputable business person knows that failure to honor his or her promise regarding a guarantee (or anything else for that matter) will inevitably result in failure of his business.
Nevertheless, there are a few who engage in deceptive practices regarding their guarantee. Always take a close look at the wording. Is the guarantee conditional? For instance, does it read something to the effect of "Follow the instructions in our program for 3 full months, and if it doesn't live up to our promises, just return it for a full refund!"
The catch is that "Follow the instructions in our program" could well involve some kind of purchase or investment. For example, you might purchase a mail order program that instructs you to buy a minimum of 3 mailing lists and send 3 mailings. Let's say that you give it a try and find out after the first mailing that your profits (if any) fall far short of your expenses and you've lost money, maybe even a LOT of money.
But when you attempt to return the program for a refund, you're told that you're ineligible because "You didn't follow the instructions in our program" which would have meant 2 additional mailings and the loss of even more money, maybe more than you paid for the program to begin with!
Another sneaky and extremely unethical trick you may run across is a guarantee in which the "conditions" are never mentioned up front, but only revealed AFTER you've make a purchase. If you come across this type of scam, contact the vendor and remind him that you purchased his program expecting him to honor the guarantee as it was stated in the offer.
Tell him you're going to file a complaint with his local Better Business Bureau, another with the US Postal Service (if your program was sent by mail) or take other appropriate legal action. Give him a reasonable time frame to refund your purchase. Then if he still refuses TAKE ACTION and make good on your threats! You'll be doing a favor not only for yourself, but for other consumers AND for all the honest business people everywhere.
In summary, make sure there IS a guarantee, that it's unconditional, and don't let the vendor get away with adding "conditions" after the fact.
6. Follow your passion.
You'd be making a huge mistake selecting a home business that doesn't take into account your personal interests. No matter how realistic, how profitable, how easy, or how quickly you can start it up, you're unlikely to be successful in any home business if you're doing something you just don't enjoy.
The reason? As stated above, success will demand both your time and effort. But to a large extent, how MUCH time and how MUCH effort you're putting forth is a matter of perception.
Everyone knows how quickly time passes when you're having fun, and how slowly when you're doing something you consider drudgery. The same is true of effort. Work just doesn't seem as much like work when you're task is something you like doing.
If your home business is something that doesn't really interest you, the demands on your time and energy will sooner or later seem unbearable. Your enthusiasm will falter, and with it, your productivity. Even if you encounter some short term success, your waning eagerness will eventually spell doom for your business.
It's the nature of us humans to tend to believe those who tell us what we most want to hear, whether they be politicians, marketers, or whoever. Anytime you're presented with an attractive offer, ask yourself "Is this really believable based on the offer itself?" To put it another way, try and imagine you were someone else who had no interest in starting your own home business. Would you find the offer believable enough to suggest it to someone who did?
In conclusion, when determining whether to pursue any home business offer, examine critically not only the offer itself, but your own emotional involvement as well! Try to look at it dispassionately and ask yourself "Does it really sound realistic, or do I just want it to?"
And remember that you have literally billions of offers from which to pick, so you can well afford to pass on any that don't fit your interest, or that make outrageous claims that are most certainly unrealistic!
